Congratulations to Erica Mejia, MCC Scheduling Team Leader, Cycliad’s Top Individual Fundraiser for 2015!
Erica Mejia, MCC Scheduling Team Leader participated in Cycliad 2015 and was recognized by the Deep South Cancer Foundation as the 2015 Top Individual Fund Raiser. Erica raised over $5,000 and rode over 1,000 miles to ensure that no one has to fight cancer alone. Erica was awarded a bicycle in recognition of her fundraising efforts!

The Healing Cup - Coming soon to Montgomery Cancer Center
We are pleased to announce construction of The Healing Cup beginning August 29, 2015. The Healing Cup will open Winter 2015 just in time for freshly brewed coffee on cold days. The Healing Cup will offer sandwiches, various snacks and take away items for purchase. Patients and guests visiting Montgomery Cancer Center, Carmichael Imaging and Montgomery Breast Center are encouraged to drop in and check out the new shop. Prices will be reasonable and tasty treats will be accessible from within the center.

Montgomery Cancer Center among first in nation to treat advanced prostate cancer patients with Provenge
Montgomery Cancer Center is the first facility in Alabama and among the first in the nation to treat advanced prostate cancer patients with a promising new therapy. PROVENGE® (sipuleucel-T) is the first in a new therapeutic class known as autologous cellular immunotherapies. PROVENGE was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of men with asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic metastatic castrate resistant (hormone refractory) prostate cancer.

Montgomery Breast Center Introduces Nation’s First Gammaloc® Biopsy
Montgomery Breast Center is the first in the country to install and use the GammaLoc® lesion-localization system - the only FDA-approved device for gamma-guided, minimally invasive needle biopsy of suspicious lesions identified with Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI). BSGI uses the Dilon 6800® gamma camera to reveal lesions independent of tissue density and discover early stage cancers that can be missed with other imaging methods.
